Onions in pn and fry off one tablespoon off olive oil two ounces of butter and three finely chopped cloves of garlic. Nothing else required other than perhaps a little ground black pepper. There should be enough salt in the butter but add a little if unsalted.
button mushrooms clove of garlic plenty of butter, salt and pepper, fry in a hot pan add parsley then serve. Easy and simple, dont need to complicate food to make it tasty!!
Try these with the beef! they are amazing!!! (we always make this with the button mushrooms instead of the protobellos).

1/2 cup parsley leaves, a couple of handfuls

8 cloves garlic, cracked away from skins

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil (depending on how much ';sauce'; you want in the pan)

Coarse salt and pepper

24 medium to large mushroom caps

1 cup dry sherry

add extra-virgin olive oil to the pan, 2 tablespoons or 2 turns of the pan. Add mushrooms, cook 3 or 4 minutes to char edges and soften, add parsley and garlic, then salt and pepper, then sherry. Reduce sherry while scraping up pan drippings and remove to serving dish.
1) Melt butter in pan with a smidge of oil (olive tastes best)and add the mushrooms. Let them cook down a few minutes.

2) Sprinkle with garlic powder, add minced garlic, and douse with a cooking wine of your choice. Let cook down, stirring, so that the mushrooms can absorb the flavors and the sauce can reduce (especially since the mushrooms will leach out their moisture). Taste test periodically and adjust if need be.

3) IF you did want to add meat, cube chicken and brown in butter/oil. When done, add to mushroom mixture and continue to cook. (Serving the next day really brings out the full flavor.)
use garlic butter to simply fry the mushrooms in. Or fry off some butter, add a chopped clove of fresh garlic and fry the muchrooms. delicious mmmm
2 cloves of garlic chopped fine. Saute in a tbl. of olive oil on medium low heat. you don't want the garlic to burn. Then add sliced button mushrooms about 1 lb. Saute on med high heat stirring till mushrooms brown. Serve with meats or eggs or on toast. They are so good. If you want, you can add salt%26amp;pepper, but I don't due to our diet restrictions.
frying pan, plus bacon plus eggs one sorted meal
I sometimes do this with mushrooms

in a bowl put 4 tablespoons of olive oil and a sprinkle of dried rosemary, a sprinkle of mild chili powder- asda's own make is best, also add a good grind of rock salt %26amp; black pepper and mix and put to one side.

Then finely chop 6 garlic cloves and add that to the mixture and last put a good half pound of button mushrooms in and mix well, making sure the mushrooms are well coated.

Then just place on a baking tray %26amp; bake in a medium oven - gas mark 5 for 40 minutes and thats it done.

Or try pulling the stork out of the mushrooms and putting a half a garlic clove in its place, place upside down on the tray and bake as above, using the same olive oil mixture.
BAKED GARLIC MUSHROOMS

12 large mushrooms

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 cup coarse dry bread crumbs, preferably from italian bread

2 garlic cloves (minced with a garlic press)

1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, (1/4 tsp dried)

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 400.

Wipe mushrooms clean with a damp paper towel. Cut lengthwise through the stems into 1/4 inch thick slices.

Lightly spray or wipe a baking dish with about 1 tsp of the olive oil.

Heat the remaining olive oil and butter in a medium skillet. Add the bread crumbs and cook over medium heat, stirring until the crumbs are coated and begin to brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic, thyme, salt, paprika and pepper.

Stir over medium heat until the garlic is translucent, 1 to 2 minutes.

Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the mushrooms.

Bake 25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender.

Serve hot or at room temperature.

Yield: 4 servings
